Carlos Correa injury update: Astros star (back) pulled from game vs. Tigers, sent home to rest

He’s slashing .279/.359/.588 this season with 19 homers and 56 RBIs in 71 games for the AL West-leading Astros (80-46).He hasn’t played more than 110 games in the regular season since 2016 — his second season in the majors.Jack Mayfield shifted to shortstop Monday after Correa’s exit, but it’s unlikely he’ll take over the position if Correa misses extended time as Alex Bregman shifted over from third base for the majority of Correa’s previous IL stint.
