Samsung has been playing it quite aggressively in the Indian market recently with the Galaxy M series. After announcing the Galaxy M30 yesterday at a cheaper price, Samsung has launched the new Galaxy A series in India. The 2019 A series consists of three models for the moment – Galaxy A10, Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50. The Galaxy A10 is priced at Rs 8,490 for 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. The Galaxy A30 comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, starting at Rs 16,990. The Galaxy A50 is the flagship model in the 2019 A series and starts at Rs 19,990 for the variant with 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage and goes up to Rs 22,990 for the variant 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The Samsung Galaxy A50 focuses primarily on a premium camera experience. The Infinity-U display is the other major feature that brings in an AMOLED panel. The Galaxy A50 sports a large 6.4-inch FHD+ (1080×2340) Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a U-shaped notch on the top. The display also houses an optical in-screen fingerprint sensor. The A50 takes advantage of a “3D Glasstic” material, which is essentially a highly polished plastic material with premium glass-like glossy surface and gradients. The Galaxy A50 is powered by a new Exynos 9610 chipset with four 2.3GHz performance cores and four 1.7GHz power efficient cores. The A50 will come in two variants – one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage while the other with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. For the cameras, Galaxy A50 gets a triple camera setup – 25-megapixel primary sensor with F1.7 lens + 5-megapixel F2.2 depth sensor + 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle shooter. The front-facing camera also gets a 25-megapixel sensor, but with F2.0 aperture. A 4000mAh battery keeps the handset alive.advertisementThe Galaxy A30 is a toned down version of the A50. Instead of the Exynos 9610, the A30 uses the older Exynos 7885 with two Cortex-A73 cores and six Cortex-A53 cores. Instead of the triple camera setup at the rear, the Galaxy A30 gets a dual 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel wide-angle setup, the second having a wide-angle lens. There’s also a 16-megapixel selfie camera with a brighter aperture. The Galaxy A30 will come with either 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage. The Galaxy A30 also ditches the in-screen fingerprint sensor and goes for a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Galaxy A10 is the cheapest of the lot and is a watered down version of the Galaxy A30. The A10 goes for an Infinity-V Super AMOLED HD+ display. The A10 runs on a 1.6GHz Exynos 7884 chipset. For cameras, there’s a single 13-megapixel camera at the back with F1.9 aperture and a 5-megapixel camera at the front for selfies. The Galaxy A10 doesn’t get a fingerprint scanner but gets a face unlock feature.
